Features
The New EPI 585 is a brilliant and unique USB plug based
Ionizer, which, by the consistent release of negative ions (More than
2,000,000 per cc) via the application of corona discharge, purifies the
ambient air around the computer. Easy to use, with a footprint the
size of a USB flash memory drive, the ionizer eliminates static with no EMI.
With a low power consumption of less than 0.2W, the EPI 585 utilizes the
piezoelectric ceramic transfer technology to produce a high negative
ion concentration but with a very low ozone content less than 0.048pm.
The Ionizer will substantially improve the air quality around the computer
and it's user. purify the air, killing bacteria, improving respiratory
function with an increased sense of well being.
Piezoelectric Transformer
The core component of the ionizer is the piezoelectric
ceramic transformer which has the capability of exchanging mechanical power
into electric power. The input voltage agitates the ceramic chip to a
resonant state and the positive resulting piezoelectric effect creates the
exchange to electric power. The resulting high voltage created by the
chip sized transformer results in a corona discharge of negatively charged
ions into the air around the user.
Negative Ions in Nature
