The Fluoride Action Network (FAN), a nonprofit group dedicated to ending the practice of artificial water fluoridation, has created an official petition aimed at putting a stop to federal government support of fluoridation, and eventually ending the harmful practice altogether. The Fluoride Action Network (FAN), a truth about fluoride advocacy group, reports that the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the oldest Hispanic civil rights organization in the US, recently adopted a resolution decrying water fluoridation as a civil rights abuse. The resolution declares that adding fluoride to water supplies is essentially an illegal mass medication of the public. It also mentions the many current scientific studies that highlight the dangers of ingesting fluoride, particularly among those with pre-existing health conditions — and that public health authorities have ignored this science in favor of their unscientific, pro-fluoride agenda. [...] While millions of people in the world are struggling to access safe drinking water, drugs contamination in the supply water has been emerging as a rising concern. [...] The Environmental Protection Agency will set a limit on the amount of the chemical perchlorate, as well as other “toxic contaminants,” in drinking water, it announced Wednesday. [...] About 28% of the children in the low-fluoride area scored as bright, normal or higher intelligence compared to only 8% in the “high” fluoride area of Wamaio In the high-fluoride city, 15% had scores indicating mental retardation and only 6% in the low-fluoride city. The study authors write: “In this study we found a significant dose-response relation between fluoride level in serum and children’s IQ.” Read More… [...] Rob Love, Heather Fazio, & Dr. Paul Connett Speak To Austin City Council Opposing Water FluoridationDr. Paul Connett, a professor of environmental chemistry at St. Lawrence University in New York and director of the Fluoride Action Network—America’s largest organization opposing water fluoridation—kicked off his six-day Austin, Texas tour at the Nov. 4 Austin City Council meeting where he pressed the council to consider re-evaluation of the city’s water fluoridation practices. This has been confirmed by a study carried out by researchers from the University of Valencia (UV), who have issued a warning about the continued presence of these substances on wildlife and human health. [...] Fluoride has been added to our water supply for the last 60 years, supposedly for the benefit of our teeth. It is widely believed that adding fluoride to the drinking water will help to prevent dental caries (cavities). However, the 1999 Centers For Disease Control study widely cited as justification for the fluoridation of the water supply only looked at topical applications of fluoride in the form of toothpastes and dental fluoride treatments, not ingested fluoride. [...] Emerging research increasingly indicates that the U.S. water supply is widely contaminated with the endocrine disrupting chemical atrazine, but that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is taking almost no action on the threat. Atrazine is an herbicide widely sprayed on corn fields in the Midwest, and one of the most widely detected groundwater contaminants in the country. According to an analysis of state and federal records by the Chicago Tribune, atrazine has been detected in the drinking water of a million people in 60 Illinois communities over the past four years.
