Precautionary Boil Water Notice Issued for Parts of Springfield, Florida

Boil Water Alert
The City of Springfield Public Works Department is performing underground repairs and will have the water off for approximately two hours beginning at 10:00 a.m. for residents of Douglas Rd. between Naples Ave. and Volusia Ave. and also for the residents of S. Louella Ave. and King Ave.
A precautionary boil water notice has been issued effective immediately for these residents. Water used for consumption should be brought to a rolling boil for (1) one minute. Consumption includes brushing teeth, washing fruits and vegetables and homemade ice. Tap water may be used for showering, baths, shaving and washing.
Though the risk of illness is minimal, individuals who have recent surgical wounds, are immunosuppressed or have a chronic illness may want to consider using bottled or boiled water for cleansing until the notice is lifted.
Notification will be provided when the precautionary boil water notice is rescinded. This will occur once satisfactory bacteriological water test results are received which may take up to (3) three days.
