Northwest Arkansas Times Reports Another Boil Water Order Issued

The Washington Water Authority has issued a “precautionary boil order” effective immediately for people in the Sugar Mountain area south of West Fork.

The areas affected are Sugar Mountain Road, Truelove Road and all addresses below 15695 Seely Road.

This order was issued as a precautionary measure because of the possibility water may become contaminated as a result of a partial loss of normal system pressure due to electrical outages.

People are advised to boil their water “briskly” for 1 minute before drinking or consuming it. All ice cubes should be discarded, and only boiled water should be used for making ice.

This precautionary boil order will remain in effect until samples are determined to be safe by the Arkansas Department of Health in Little Rock.

People in the affected area needing drinking water may obtain a case of water and some food supplies from the West Fork or Sunset fire departments.

Those seeking more information can call the Washington Water Authority offices at 479-267-2111.
