NEW YORK — A jury has found Exxon Mobil liable for contaminating New York City's groundwater with a gasoline additive and has awarded the city $105 million.

The jury in federal court in Manhattan issued its findings Monday after an 11-week trial.

The city sued Exxon Mobil for the costs of removing a gasoline additive from drinking wells in Queens. It argued that the company ignored warnings from its own scientists and engineers not to use the additive in areas that use groundwater for drinking water.

A 52-year-old American (New York) man’s arthritic-like joint pain and immobility went away after he stopped brushing his teeth with fluoridated toothpaste, according to a study in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research (1).

Got Fluorosis? There’s no scientific dispute that large fluoride doses cause crippling skeletal fluorosis over time. (See. http://www.nalgonda.org/fluorosis/victims.htm ) But, “less well-known causes of chronic fluoride toxicity include fluoride supplements, certain teas and wine and some toothpastes,” report researchers Kurland, et al.
Scientists who have produced the first robust proof that cloud seeding can increase long-term rainfall are urging developing countries considering the technology to be cautious.

Cloud seeding involves injecting clouds with chemicals that encourage water vapour to form ice crystals heavy enough to fall, melting on their way to produce rain. Chemicals can be injected into clouds using aircraft or by launching rockets.

Environmentalist efforts, a sagging economy and major cities outlawing the sales of bottle water, have contributed to a drop in sales.

In our article; Bottled Water – A 4,000 Percent Markup Via Coke And Pepsi, we wrote that:

Bottled water cost’s up to 4,000 times more than tap water

Bottled water is essentially tap water

Bottled water does not fall under FDA guidelines, and is often has more mercury and other pollutants in it than public utility water.

80% of water bottles end up in landfills, streams and the environment.

It takes 5 bottles of water to create the plastic for 1 water bottle.

Pepsi, Coca-Cola (owners of Dasani and Aquafina) and Nestle have all been accused of over pumping streams, taking water from farmers, and in some cases, capping public wells in third world countries, claiming ownership of aquifers and making it illegal for people to collect rainwater. (forcing villagers to go to the river and drink polluted water)

The popularity of bottled water soared in the 1990s and the early 2000s, but that is changing, according to figures from market research company TNS. Last year the on-going year-on-year increase in sales was halted and sales actually fell by 9%.

The monsoon’s late arrival has left the ground parched and crops damaged as water shortages sweep through the cities. At least 100 people have been reported dead as a result of the disastrous heat wave reaching temperatures as high as 113F.

WASHINGTON – Millions of people living in nearly 600 neighborhoods across the country are breathing concentrations of toxic air pollutants that put them at a much greater risk of contracting cancer, according to new data from the Environmental Protection Agency.

The levels of 80 cancer-causing substances released by automobiles, factories and other sources in these areas exceed a 100 in 1 million cancer risk. That means that if 1 million people breathed air with similar concentrations over their lifetime, about 100 additional people would be expected to develop cancer because of their exposure to the pollution.

Earlier this week Sen. Kay Hagan asked for a Congressional investigation into contaminated water at Camp Lejeun. Now Sen. Richard Burr is concerned about the issue of toxic water at Camp Lejeune, as well.

Burr released a statement Wednesday, saying the latest report on the water contamination from the 1950's to the 1980's just isn't good enough.

"I am deeply concerned about the conclusions in the report from the National Academy of Sciences. This latest report still raises more questions than it answers," Burr says in the statement.

"Former Marines, their families, and former employees at Camp Lejeune have waited far too long for answers, and we need to start working toward a resolution."

Press Release: openUReyes.org.nz in association with Health Freedom NZ & Fluoride Action Network NZ - Free movie screening for "The Fluoride Deception" in New Zealand.

Modern scientific evidence is now overwhelming that fluoridation of drinking water is harmful and there is no significant reduction in tooth decay, as has been alleged in the past 40 years. Over 2400 Professionals' (including Doctors, Dentists and Scientists) have now moved to call for a worldwide ban on Fluoridation. Five percent of the world population is fluoridated of which over 50% live in North America; 99% of western continental Europe is not fluoridated for a variety of reasons. Many countries cite health, civil liberties or environmental concerns for rejecting, banning, or discontinuing artificial fluoridation.

We are demanding an end to the pollution of our public water supplies.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source. When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, water system officials will notify you.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WSPA.com) - A North Carolina senator is calling for a congressional hearing about contaminated drinking water at a North Carolina Marine Corps base.

Democratic Sen. Kay Hagan said Tuesday that a new study of water at Camp Lejeune downplays effects on health and doesn’t take into account previous studies. The report released last week by the National Research Council said there is evidence people at the base were exposed to chemicals. But the report said there was no definite link to birth defects, cancer and other ailments suffered by people who lived and worked on base.
Hagan says former Lejeune personnel and residents “need closure on this issue.“ She is a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and says she wants the committee to hold a hearing.

Andy Burnham, new Health Secretary, has called for universal water fluoridation despite protests over 'mass medication' and concern over links to cancer and bone disease.

Mr Burnham was accused of a 'conflict of interest' as he has been a supporter and vice-president of the British Fluoridation Society for a number of years.

In his first speech as Health Secretary Mr Burnham said: "Let's press ahead with fluoridation of water supplies, given the clear evidence that it can improve children's dental health."

In February the South Central Strategic Health Authority became the first region in almost 20 years to moves to add fluoride to the drinking water supply.

Water in Southampton and parts of Hampshire will be fluoridated from next year despite around 70 per cent of the respondents to the consultation arguing against the move.
